Enjoy your vacation in the time-honored Wisconsin tradition--UP AT THE LAKE. This cabin rental is available for rent for the first time. The family owned cabin for rent is located on Lake McKinley which is 8 miles northwest of Spooner and two hours northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

			Beautiful lake views from three sides of this Cabin. The lake home is newly furnished and fully equipped. A spacious deck on both levels gives you a wonderful view of the lake. Nearby is the small guest house with bunk beds which the kids love.

Situated on a point, this lake home for rent overlooks a 105 acre lake (30 ft. max depth) that provides excellent fishing with northern pike, various pan fish, bass and some walleye present.  Private beach area complete with dock, canoe, kayak, and a fishing boat with small motor as well as a canoe and kayak are available.  Great fishing!

The Cabin's warm honey colored knotty pine paneling surrounds you as you enter the great room. The decor is rustic but don't let that fool you--all new carpeting, bathroom fixtures, and appliances (even washer and dryer for your convenience) all immaculate.  The three bedrooms are all paneled in different versions of pine and the main floor bathroom has a wall history of the cabin.  Kitchen, great room, and three bedrooms on main level.

Scoot down the spiral staircase to the family room in the walk-out basement with a Franklin wood stove for those chilly evenings.  There's a large bathroom down here for the shower after swimming. Fully finished walkout basement on lower level with bunkhouse nearby.

The cabin has 1/4 miles of sandy shoreline and 13 acres of heavily wooded land which affords you a degree of privacy seldom found.  A plus for the younger non-swimmer is the shallow depth at shoreline with gradual increase in depth.  No drop offs.

Things to Do:

• Plan a canoe trip down the Yellow or Namekagen River, both close at hand.
• Play golf at the Spooner Country Club or the renowned Voyager Village course, both open to the public.
• Visit the Tommy Thompson fish hatchery in Spooner, largest in the state and tours are given.
• Go to the Potter's Shed in Shell Lake and watch them fire Raku pottery or have them glaze your own pot.
• Hike the trail through the wooded 13 acres surrounding the cabin--you might surprise a deer.
• Play tennis on the Olympic sized court right on the property.
• There's a basketball hoop if HORSE is your game.
• And, of course, fish and swim.

Vacation Rental Rates and Reservations:

Available for weekly rental only - May-Oct. $1000 per week.

Kitchen is fully equipped, all bedding provided (bring your own towels), maximum occupancy is 8.
Up to 4 additional persons can be accommodated for $50/person extra.
Boat/motor rental available for $125 week.

Rustic relaxation in a wooded and secluded area!

Indulge yourself in the rustic relaxation of the Brittany Cottages on Madeline Island. We're surrounded by the rugged majesty of Lake Superior, and only a short ferry ride off Wisconsin's beautiful, remote and pristine North Coast. Built in 1905, in the style of the Great Camps of the Adirondacks, Brittany looks much the same today as it did then. Come and experience the vacation of an earlier, simpler, quieter time.

		You will enjoy complete family privacy in your own "home away from home" at the Brittany Cottages. Each cottage comfortably sleeps four. Brittany and Normandy Cottages are original to the property (circa 1905), and Burgundy Cottage began its life as the Island power and pump station and was converted to a guest cabin in 1947. Brittany was originally the laundry building and included sleeping quarters for the laundress. Normandy was originally the garage and bunkhouse for the chauffeur. Pine Top Lodge is new this year, up above the historically recreated Carriage House.

All guests have the use of the entire grounds. That would include shuffleboard & croquet, beach, dock and a fire ring on the beach for bonfires. Everyone is welcome to relax and enjoy the sights, sounds, and aromas in the formal garden and take a break in the Tea House. The Main House and Deck are off limits.

For all you couch potatoes, and for entertaining kids when it rains, the cottages are equipped with VCR's, and there is satellite TV reception available.

Reservations:

• Minimum stay in the Brittany Cottages is three nights in July and August, two nights all other times.
• A deposit of 50% of your stay is due with your reservation; the balance is due upon check-in.
• Pay for six nights, the seventh night is free.
• Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be made if your cancellation is more than 30 days in advance of your stay. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, a refund will be made only if the space is rented. A $25 fee will be charged on all cancellations.
• Brittany Cottages no longer accepts pets..
• Children are welcome in the Brittany Cottages.
• Daily housekeeping is NOT provided.
• Clean towels and linens will be provided mid-week during a stay of a week or longer.
• Small boats, canoes, and kayaks are welcome to use our beach and our dock.
• Jet skis are not allowed.
• There are phones in the Cottages for outgoing local and long distance calls.
• Smoking is allowed on the grounds, but not in any building.
• The Cottages have VCR's (Bring your own movies, or rent them in Downtown) as well as Satellite TV.
• All linens and cooking utensils are included.
• Visa, MasterCard, personal checks, and cash are all welcome.

• Reservations will only be taken by phone.
