This holiday flat to let provides the perfect base for a relaxing break, with opportunities for walking, cycling, golf, bird watching or watersports, but with all the convenience of shops, banks, restaurants and watering-holes close at hand. 

Largs Station provides regular links to Glasgow and Ayr (the latter via Prestwick International Airport, which is less than 30 miles away). There is also a good local bus service.

		Accommodations & Facilities: Entrance Hall: All rooms lead off this lobby, which has a large cupboard, housing a dryer and ironing board for guests’ use, coat hooks, a spare anorak and umbrella, plus the caretaker/cleaner’s equipment.  Kitchen Area: Spacious corner of open-plan lounge/diner, containing fridge, electric oven, microwave, washing machine, extractor fan.

Bedroom: Twin beds and large built-in wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors and coat-hangers.  A pair of fold-up chairs are stored here for guests’ use.  Chest of drawers contains hairdryer for guests’ use.  Radio alarm clock.  Electric storage heater with timer.

		Lounge/Diner:  Modern, open-plan area, smartly and attractively furnished and decorated.  Beech and frosted glass dining table in alcove seats two.  Two-seater settee.  Satellite TV/digital radio, DVD player, portable radio/cassette/CD player. Some books and games provided. Double glazed windows. Electric storage heater with timer. Bathroom: Shower and bath, electric fan heater, heated towel rail, extractor fan. Outside: Small shared garden and drying area. Covered area for wheelie-bins.

Largs has an excellent selection of cafes and restaurants, including the trendy Lounge and Fluid, plus more traditional establishments such Morris's, Nardini's at the Green Shutters, Bon Bonjera and Bean & Leaf.   High Tea — the traditional Scottish early-evening meal — is also served here. Other venues for eating out later than ‘High Tea’ are the Brisbane Hotel, Morris’s Restaurant and Flannigan’s, the latter two having non-smoking areas.

		Regular Caledonian MacBrayne ferries from nearby Largs pier to the Isle of Great Cumbrae (15 minutes) synchronise with a bus service to the island’s only town, quaint Millport.  Bicycles may be hired for the easy, 11-mile circular ride around the island.  The town also boasts Britain’s narrowest house, the smallest cathedral in Europe and the ‘Crocodile Rock’.

The only sea-going paddle steamer in the world, the SS Waverley, plies its trade up and down the Firth of Clyde during the summer. 

Set back from the northern extreme of the Largs seafront is the highly-praised attraction, Vikingar!, a multi-media experience taking you from the first Viking raids to their defeat at the Battle of Largs. The same complex also houses a theatre/cinema, swimming pool, cafe, fitness suite and soft play area.

Glasgow is less than an hour by train from Largs. A very cosmopolitan city nowadays, it’s also a Mecca for admirers of the great architect, designer and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Other attractions include the superb Burrell Collection, City Chambers, Science Centre, Pollok House, Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, and the amazing Necropolis, an imposing hillside cemetery modelled on the famous Pere La-Chaise Cemetery in Paris.
